A Free offer for spankos everywhere

If you are coming here from Lurv Spanking, then welcome to Byron Cane Fiction. If you’re not, welcome as well, because everyone should be reading. As the title states, there is a free offer available for a limited time. As some of you know, I’ve been wrestling with my ‘Grace’ novel, my completed novel, for many years and have only within the past week, began editing again after a lapse of four years. Detailed post here if you want more information.

I’m also sure that many of you search on-line booksellers and know that free samples are available for many titles before purchasing. Usually this is about 10% of the actual word count. My novel will be around 100,000 words.

So, as you have guessed, I am offering the first five chapters, 24 pages and 9,185 words for free, yes free, for anyone who wants to receive an email that will have: Free Grace Sample, in the subject line and be sent from Bryoncanefiction@gmail.com.

Now, you can use the ‘Contact’ page at the top of the blog, or leave a comment on this post and I will use the email address you commented with, or send an email directly to Byroncanefiction@gmail.com by clicking this link which will open in your email provider.

I do want to post this warning that this excerpt is rated 18+ and filled with spanking and BDSM and bad words. It is also dark and contains about every single trigger you can imagine. If that’s not what you want to read, then don’t request a copy, please. And of course, follow common sense as to where and in front of whom you read this.

So what is this novel all about?

Well, it has spanking, BDSM, D/s, D/D, polyamory, Christianity, LGBTQIA, abuse, violence, and takes an unflinching look at the way corruption intersects with juvenile justice. There is lots more than that: the narrative device is two timelines eight years apart that come together with plots that go spinning off in all directions, affluenza leading to wasted lives and people finding love in all the wrong places. It is not an easy read, and it will piss a lot of people off.

But at the heart, it’s a romance about the devastation of abuse inflicted by adults upon children and the power of faith and redemption to bring healing to broken survivors.

And I will say this, I like writing erotica, not so much for the thrill or titillation of the forbidden, but because I really don’t like hypocrisy.

My goal with this offer is not to solicit – because that’s not legal except in Nevada outside of Las Vegas – editing, but rather for any and all commentary on the story. I’ve edited this many times, but stuff slips through and, I’ve switched from 1st person to 3rd person so many times that there may be errors. But feedback is very important to me. If you hate it, that’s fine, my writing is not to everyone’s taste. So please consider providing specific feedback if you’re able.

Once the novel is completely rewritten/edited, I’ll be calling for a small group of beta readers before I move forward with publishing, as well as advice for agents and publishers.

In the future, I’m going to be posting updates and offers on this blog instead of Lurv Spanking, so if you aren’t a follower yet, please do follow Bryon Cane.

A “FREE” spanking? Cool.

For a very limited time, a few days only, you can download The Case of the Disciplined Valentine to any ereader device for FREE. If you love vampires, sex, Victorian-era romance, steampunk, spanking and other forms of delicious discipline, then take this opportunity to grab some alone time and read your way to…. err, bliss.

Take a sensual journey on over to Amazon by clicking this link, and be transported to steampunk London, where it is early February in the year 1854 and a certain vampire is about to come face-to-face with a most exasperating and intriguing female. And then he meets his Valentine.

A comedy of Victorian manners mixed with delicious spankings and sexual encounters guaranteed to raise even a vampire’s blood pressure, Byron Cane sets a torrid pace in his historical paranormal erotic novella.

It is 1854 in steampunk London, and Sir Nachton MacRath is warily returning to his home isle after decades abroad. He has good reasons to steer clear of the Royal Family, but is immediately snared by the Queen herself, who anoints him, Her Chastiser of Loose Morals, complete with elevation to the upper reaches of the aristocracy. Rather than a quiet existence as a vampire, he is now a Peer uneasily rubbing shoulders with the most powerful men in the Empire.

Phoebe Hayward is a lady of good breeding, but like all her contemporaries, longs for some excitement and romance. Valentine’s Day is only weeks away, when their paths cross with a bump. Despite later discovering the man ordered to discipline her is actually a vampire, she can’t help falling in love. The more encounters with Sir MacRath she makes, the more her body yearns to know what it is to submit to his vampiric touch. When he reluctantly agrees to be her Valentine, thus begins a Domination and discipline the likes she’s never dreamed.

MacRath doesn’t feel he deserves Phoebe’s love, and attempts to push her away by taking her deeper into sexual submission. She surprises him — and herself — by eagerly submitting to his every desire.Together, they explore the sensual heights that a woman and a man — a vampire — can reach. But politics and conflict are never far away, and the Valentine’s Day deadline comes all too soon.

Disclaimer: The Case of the Disciplined Valentine, with minor changes, is the same novella as previously published in the Lust in Lace anthology, as Sir MacRath Thrashes his Valentine. If you have already purchased the anthology in ebook or audio book, then there is no need to purchase it again… unless you want to financially support me. 🙂

This is a short excerpt, included in the Instafreebie, when Phoebe bumps into — literally — Sir Fang for the first time. He’s not known by that address, you’ll have to read the entire novella to found out when and where he is tagged with the nickname.

As the youngest of four, and the only girl, she readily admitted to being spoiled. However, it wasn’t as if she was going to elope with the local butcher. Phoebe knew her duty and eagerly looked forward to her second Season. If, that is, her father would allow sufficient allowance for what he called ‘fripperies and nonsense’.

Minor gentry, they lived comfortably but hardly aspired to the lofty heights of the truly noble elite. A second or third son of a Viscount would be more than acceptable to a Baronet’s daughter. She had spent the morning circulating the shops, counting pennies to avoid furthering her father’s ire.

Still fuming about the threatened punishment, she didn’t notice the pedestrian in her path. It seemed the last straw.
Clumsy oaf she was set to retort — most unladylike — when she gazed upon her captor and was enraptured by a face whose masculine beauty took her voice.
Pale silver eyes floated above sharp chiseled cheekbones.
Stark black hair slicked back from a high forehead.
Lips glistened the color of full ripe strawberries.
Oh, my. His skin is ethereal. Her hand lifted of its own accord to caress.
The stranger captured her wayward fingers and repeated his inquiry.
“No,” she gushed in blatant admiration. “I am uninjured, sir. Thank you for saving me. I am indebted to you.”
Set to her feet, she could only watch in helpless adoration as the tall, beautiful stranger walked out of her life without a single backward glance.

Oh… bite me

A little over a year ago, I had a novella published in the Lust in Lace anthology. My novella in that publication is called, Sir MacRath Thrashes his Valentine. With only some minor changes [A sidebar, in nearly every book, magazine and newspaper I read, I find typographical and grammatical errors. My story was no exception.] Clarion Press is republishing my novella very soon as a standalone story with both some narrative changes and a brand-new title. Without further ado, may I present the first — hopefully of many — Sir Fang Stories.

Spanking Newsletter #5

That time of the month again—for a spanking!!!!

Don’t have an update on last month’s mention of an accepted story for an anthology yet. No idea on the timeline for editing and/or publication. In the interim, I have submitted another story to Sexy Little Pages for the next call. The prompt this time is titled, Dancing With Myself: Stories of Self-Love Erotica.

One other publishing note, there is a new and very exciting venture starting up called Clarian Press. The renowned author, Ina Morata, is creating a company to publish her, and other erotica writers, fiction and poetry. Hopefully by this time next month, I will have more information to share and even an active website link, but for now, this is the concept logo and byline.

“Erotic, romantic and passionate fiction for all your desires”

Spanking Newsletter #3

Cut through the noise.

At no point in human history has it been both easier to publish yet harder to be noticed. Through 99% of the past, literacy has been the barrier separating the elite—including organized religion—and those simply trying to survive day-to-day. Up until Johannes Gutenberg brought the printing press to Europe, the primary means of communication were sermons and plays. It was very easy to control oral information for the authorities. A severed tongue stilled treason.

Between Gutenberg’s Bible and the rapid explosion of the World Wide Web, books became more and more common and difficult to stamp out. Censorship no longer could solely focus on bards and troubadours, but fought a steadily losing battle against underground pamphlets and other scurrilous publications. Contrary to modern thinking, porn—both visual and written—has existed for as long as humans have interacted.

What is new, are the many e-publishers who have taken the erotic story off the dingy back room shelves, boldly cast off the raincoat and openly called upon writers to submit their best smut. I answered that call, and submitted to four different prompts over the course of several months. The first three were rejected. Not a surprise, because I don’t really write what editors are looking for. I prefer to write quirky.

If I had to pick one genre of fiction I gravitate to the most, it would be science fiction. I do realize that there are as many distinctions in sci-fi as there are in romance, but I tend towards hard science if I had a choice. This is a segue into one of the submission calls I entered for an erotic take on gluttony; more specifically in terms of a Deadly Sin. The setting is in a future where humans have settled other planets.

The story is long, at 4,000 words, and is graphic and disturbing for those that like a nice, neat stroke story. This is not one of those. After the story, I will have a brief explanation as to the reasons I wrote as I did.

As written, this short story could serve as the beginning, the middle, or the end of a novella or novel. I wanted something gritty. Something disturbing. Even so, it’s a lot tamer than it could be.

The title as always came first, but the Black, does not refer to skin color, but the history behind the shade. Black has always meant evil, and foreboding deeds in sinister towers. Sable was a heraldic term, and besides, it’s also a marten, and wouldn’t make sense tied to Feast, while ebony is fine if you’re a piece of furniture.

A staple trope of sci-fi is planets settled by either religious or ethnic groups—with the odd evil corporation tossed in—seeking a harmonious paradise untainted by ‘them’: All the while blithely forgetting that Old Earth had always been riven by sectarian strife and wars of purity.

[The major problem with outsourcing Earth’s excesses to the stars, is that there is a net increase of at least 83 million people each year. Assuming a cold sleep ark could carry 10,000 passengers, then each and every year 8,300 ships would have to leave just to break even. That’s one ship almost every hour-on-the-hour. At that’s at the current population level of 7 billion+. Sci-fi writers sidestep this conundrum by killing off most of the population first with handy plagues, wars or aliens. Sometimes all three combined.]

Anyway, my presumption is that Africa rose to preeminence and left in a massive surge leaving behind the ‘coloreds’ to their fates. They took with them slaves, and allowed immigration to the Empire. Gluttony in this case is not only food, but an entire culture bent on gorging in every way possible to wipe out the past.

Erotica to me does not automatically mean sex. The setting, the tone, the genders; all of these factors make the story work. The sex should feel organic: within the flow of plot, and not a jarring action. But then again, that’s just another label for something that people do every day—even in outer space.
